Job Description
Position Summary:
  • Manage employees whom are directly responsible for operating the Profit Center.
  • Responsible for maintaining and generating new accounts.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Operations process development and supervision
  • Customer Service
  • Branch business development/Outside sales
  • Carrier relations
  • Carrier development
  • Performance measurement (product and service delivery
  • Work schedules
  • Must be capable of developing outside relationships with the following: Competing third-party counterparts, Customers and Key suppliers


Requirements
Position Requirements:
Technical
  • College Degree Preferred
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Understanding of performance measurement
  • Training and experience in supervision and leadership
Experience
  • Mandatory 3 - 5 years of truck brokerage experience
  • Profit Center environment
  • Knowledge/experience in transportation economics
  • Experience in training and supervision of people
  • Customer management and service

Performance Accountabilities:
Job performance will be measured by:
  • Revenue growth
  • Profit contribution
  • On-time service performance
  • Employee productivity
  • Safety and morale

The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:

  • Serve as principle contact and primary negotiator for the branch in matters regarding transportation operations.
  • The ability to motivate employees in the achievement of department and corporate goals.
  • Work closely with peers to build trust and achieve corporate objectives
  • Honesty and integrity

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional travel may be necessary.
