Fleet Maintenance Manager Louisville, KY
Direct and coordinate activities to obtain optimum use of heavy duty equipment (Class 8), trailers, and MHE, facilities and personnel. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, conducting performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare the annual budget with AVP, recommend capital improvement controls and monitor expenditures.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against the budget.
Inspect Equipment to ensure they are being maintained properly.
Oversee staff payroll, inventory and billing processes.
Monitor the distribution of incentives, safety training and necessary paperwork.
Establish and implement short- and long-term division goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
Prepare a variety of reports on production, Inventory usage staffing utilization and risk management issues.
Negotiate union contracts, handle labor grievances, negotiate with equipment and material suppliers.
React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
On call 24/7 and may occasionally have to work nights or weekends. Some situations call for traveling out of state.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:
College degree in a business or technical field required; three or more years of related experience or training preferred.
Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.
Must have knowledge of diesel maintenance and/or MHE
Must have experience working in a diesel garage shop
The written/verbal communication skills to comprehend professional journals and legal documents, and respond to inquiries or complaints from agencies and business professionals.
The interpersonal skills to make strong presentations to individuals and small groups of customers, clients, upper management, and staff.
The math skills to compute rates, ratios and percentages.
Analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with multiple abstract and concrete variables.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
