We currently have an opening for an Associate Dispatcher role within our growing organization. This role allows for great opportunity within our organization and is a critical role. The working hours for this role are 10am-6pm Thursday thru Monday with the ability to work from home on Saturday and Sundays. This position executes the logistics services we offer to our customers as well as our carrier base. This is a critical position in building trust and value with our customers. The work environment is fast pace and requires a sense of urgency. Must be able to multitask, work well under pressure, problem solve and be comfortable dealing with all levels in an organization.
Responsibilities • Ensure each driver/carrier has an adequate understanding of all details of customer and company expectations on each load at the point of dispatch and delivery. • Effectively communicate with shippers, customers, drivers, and managers with any problems (e.g. truck breakdowns, pickup issues, weight issues, product not available, location changes) and updates for the purpose of ensuring all loads are covered in a safe and efficient manner. • Schedule, track and work with DC for incoming deliveries and outgoing deliveries. • Assisting with daily status checks for all assigned trucks and drivers. • Calculate appropriate carrier and customer rates. • Utilize Google sheets to manage all load information, status info and rate data. • This position does require rotating weekly on call coverage.
Preferred Skills • A positive, professional attitude when dealing with customers and co-workers. If your philosophy of customer service is “I may not know but I will find out for you”, you may be the person for this role. • The ability to organize complex data with high attention to detail. • The ability to calmly, clearly and concisely communicate in person, by phone and by email. • Possess above average problem solving skills. • Prior experience in a logistics role preferred. • Ability to multi task. • Enthusiasm, high energy, ability to work in a fast paced environment
