The Director of Operations is accountable for the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that our Edison, New Jersey business has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and-culture in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiencies. The Director of Operations has the unique responsibility of both setting the operating budget and managing the day to day details to ensure success in a rapidly growing organization. The position will work in a dynamic environment managing a diversified customer base ranging from alcoholic beverages to compostable containers.
Provide leadership to the Edison organization. Set the goals and objectives for the team. Ensure budgeted revenues, expenses, and targets are met.
Ensures operational excellence through a process of continuous improvement.
Monitor and improve the procedures and KPI’s related to all aspects of product handling and customer service.
Present CFO and President with Annual Facility Budgets; Lead Budget Reviews with Executive Staff as well as Management Staff to ensure that business is meeting its financial objectives.
Coordinates and forecasts all resource requirements in the operation to deliver on the facility budget.
Meets or exceeds established financial goals and drives a culture of accountability and achievement.
Maintains an organizational environment that promotes safety.
Develop positive relationships with customers that result in the retention of those customers and the opportunity for increased business.
Works in identifying and winning new business opportunities.
Sets and achieve housekeeping standards.
Develops and implements an operational strategy that identifies opportunities for cost control and margin improvement.
Recruit, hire, train and mentor the management team at the Edison facility. Build the bench strength of the organization.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, all company policies, as well as all Federal, State and Local OSHA regulations

Ability to understand Profit and Loss statements
Tools and Technology Required:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Proficient with WMS and RF Educational Requirements
Working knowledge of transportation management systems
10 years operations management experience
Understanding of budgeting and P&L
Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement Process improvement knowledge and experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or Logistics or an equivalent field is required
