To solicit freight and explore every aspect of a customer’s scope of business assigned from a designated customer. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and brokers. May be responsible for pricing initiatives for dedicated customer accounts.

Consistently and continually solicit committed and non-committed freight orders from designated and assigned customer base through various communication exchanges daily.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to allow for the greatest opportunities in generating freight volume.
Track and trace all shipments for current on-time status and maintain contact with customers, providing continuous updates about shipments. Work with Brokers and customers in the event of a service deviation, including change of pick up or delivery appointments.
Keep customers informed of the shipment status, including updating the customer web sites or EDI exchanges.
Continuously monitor all available communication exchanges of receiving freight load orders to accept available loads.
May set rates for freight and bid adhoc and EOM freight.
May deny carriers service and remove freight.
Uses, carries and answers their cell phone for business purposes as determined by the assigned job duties and the department head
Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of six months to one year of experience in customer service, track and trace, freight scheduling, or sales experience in the transportation industry required. Any combination of relevant education, training or experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job will be considered. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment; ability to multitask; ability to use a personal computer and knowledge of Microsoft office software.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
