Dan Schantz Farm & Greenhouses LLC has an IMMEDIATE opening for a Dispatcher Trainee.   You will receive robust training on the requirements and skills needed to become a successful reliable Dispatcher who will be able to fulfill duties described below with the utmost professionalism and can-do attitude. We need a dynamic and detailed individual who can join our team during our peak spring shipping season and exceed customer expectations!

Dan Schantz has been operating businesses in the Lehigh Valley for over 60 years! Today, our company has four commercial greenhouse growing locations as well as our retail store off of Lehigh Street and I-78 in Allentown, PA. We deliver to our customers within the tri-state area and beyond. This full-time, year-round position is based from our main office located at 8025 Spinnerstown Road, Zionsville, PA 18092. A variety of benefits are offered as well as competitive pay. You will learn:

• How to Ensure our customers receive product on time, damage free, and with a professional, safe, and excellent customer delivery experience.
• Load plan outbound moves from all four company growing facilities.  
• Coordinate transfers of product and material between the four facilities as well as contract grower facilities and farm fields in the fall ornamental season. 
• Route truck routes for maximum load factor and efficiency.  
• Dispatch drivers on a daily basis.   
• Negotiate contracts and rates for purchased transportation services.
• Develop long-term relationships with brokers and vendors to successfully navigate challenges of seasonality with supply chain.
• Maintain vehicle fleet and related transportation equipment (owned, rented, leased) for safe and efficient operation.  

Must have:   

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to answer multi-line phones and have professional phone skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Some exposure, experience and/or training in customer service, dispatching or project management or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Intermediate computer skills (proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Geographical knowledge of service area or map reading skills
• Well organized and ability to work independently
• Excellent verbal skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Energetic personality
