SouthWest Transit (SWT) is an award-winning public transit agency serving the Minnesota cities of Chaska, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie. SWT’s offices are located in the scenic community of Eden Prairie, which is approximately 12 miles southwest of Minneapolis.
SWT is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to oversee all functions of the agency including operations, finance, planning, marketing, policy development, human resources, contract negotiations, risk management, customer service, labor relations, emergency preparedness, facility management, and real estate development.
This position is responsible for developing the organization’s strategic initiatives including sustainable growth, increasing operational efficiency, strengthening the agency’s financial position, attracting and training new staff, and improving both the quality and experience of the services being offered. This position is based in SWT’s Eden Prairie office and oversees 2 direct reports and 38 indirect reports.
The starting salary for this position will be $165,000 - $185,000. SouthWest Transit offers a comprehensive benefits package to include medical, HRA/VEBA, Health Savings Account, Dental and Vision, and PERA, as well as access to on-site gym, EAP, tuition reimbursement, and Life and AD&D Insurance. This position requires a bachelor’s degree and ten or more progressively responsible years of related experience, including public service enterprise management experience, or equivalent. A master’s degree is preferred. Previous experience with transit/transportation management is desired. Key characteristics are marketing skills, knowledge of government, and knowledge of planning and financial management in a government setting, leadership, interpersonal relationship skills, decision making, delegation and problem-solving skills.
